On 14 June 2023, our client was arrested and charged with 13 charges of intentionally recording intimate images without consent and two charges of producing child abuse material.
Recording intimate images without consent is an offence contrary to section 91P of the Crimes Act 1900 and carries a maximum penalty of 3 years imprisonment. Producing child abuse material is an offence contrary to section 91H of the Crimes Act 1900 with a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment.
One of our criminal lawyers appeared as advocate at our client’s release application at the Waverley Local Court.
The prosecution opposed our client being granted bail, arguing that the offences were too serious and that a full-time custodial sentence was inevitable. However, our criminal solicitor was able to persuade the Magistrate that it was appropriate to grant conditional bail.
