Big win for drug trafficker brother of Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim

In May 2020, Michael Ibrahim, the younger brother of John Ibrahim, was sentenced at the Sydney District Court to 30 years’ jail for various offences, including, his role in a conspiracy to import more than 1.7 tonnes of MDMA, 136 kilograms of cocaine and 15 kilograms of methylamphetamine into Australia.

Hanna Legal filed an appeal against the severity of the sentence.  

On 22 April 2022, the appeal was heard at the Court of Criminal Appeal, where Hanna Legal instructed Tim Game SC and April Francis.

On 1 August 2022, the Court of Criminal Appeal handed down its decision, upholding the appeal and reducing our client’s prison sentence by five years.
