How 20yo dial-a-dealer was spared a criminal conviction

In March 2022 our client was driving in Woollahra when she was pulled over by the police for failing to stop at a yellow traffic light. She was eventually searched and police located 11 bags of cocaine and $1,650 in her vehicle.

Our client pleaded guilty to the following offences:

  • Supply prohibited drug, contrary to section 25(1) of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act; and
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime, contrary to section 193C(2) of the Crimes Act 1900.

In July 2022 our criminal lawyers represented our client at her sentence proceedings at the Downing Centre Local Court. After tendering a large bundle of subjective material and hearing our lawyers’ submissions, the Magistrate placed our client on a conditional release order without conviction.
