Jill Allison Courtney, Hussan Kalache win court costs

Prior to founding Hanna Legal, our principal, Nick Hanna, instructed Ian McClintock SC (now his Honour Judge McClintock SC) in a Supreme Court trial of two persons charged with the offence of conspiracy to murder.

The Crown case was that the man, who was in custody at the time, had planned with the woman for her to plant a bomb in a Sydney street.

At the conclusion of the prosecution evidence, the defence applied for the Court to direct a verdict of not guilty. The application was successful and his Honour Justice Hidden acquitted Mr Hanna’s client and the other accused person.

Following the directed verdict, a successful application was made on behalf of both persons for the State to pay their legal costs.

Note: At that time of the trial, Mr Hanna was a solicitor employed at Galloways Solicitors & Attorneys.
