Men sentenced over their role in large-scale drug operation involving fallen NRL star Jarrod Mullen

In late-2018, our client was one of five men charged over their roles in a wide-reaching drug trafficking operation stretching from Newcastle to Sydney.  Our client was charged with 10 offences, including:

  • Manufacture large commercial quantity of prohibited drug and expose child to process, contrary to section 24(2A) of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 (“DMTA”);
  • Supply commercial quantity of prohibited drug, contrary to section 25(2) of the DMTA (x 3); and
  • Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, contrary to section 193B(2) of the Crimes Act 1900 (x 2).

Hanna Legal engaged in extensive charge negotiations with the DPP, which resulted in our client pleading guilty to only 2 of the original 10 offences.

Our criminal lawyers also negotiated the statement of agreed facts so as to place our client in a better position at his subsequent sentence proceedings.
