In 2021, Hanna Legal represented a lawyer facing criminal and disciplinary proceedings arising from allegations that he had defrauded various clients.
We applied to the NSW Supreme Court for non-publication orders which, inter alia, prohibited the publication of information tending to reveal his identity.
Our solicitors obtained expert reports as to the likely effect of the publication of our client’s name and relied on this evidence in support of the application.
The hearing took place on 24 February 2021 and the Supreme Court handed down its decision on 8 March 2021.
The application was successful and extensive non-publication and pseudonym orders were made.
