In March 2012, three men were arrested in relation to one of the biggest gun smuggling operations in Australian history.
The syndicate imported more than 130 prohibited semi-automatic pistols into Australia and sold them to numerous criminal organisations.
The case is considered by many to be one of the most serious and complex cases involving offences contrary to section 233BAB(5) of the Customs Act 1901, and sections 51B(1) and 51D(2), ever brought before the Australian courts.
Hanna Legal represented the leader of the syndicate. For more information, see: The wake-up call: The gun-running syndicate that shocked Australian law enforcement, ABC News, 15 May 2017.
