In October 2022, our client was charged with 1 count of importing a prohibited tier 2 good, namely, a firearm silencer, contrary to s 233BAB(5) of the Customs Act 1901. This offence carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.   

This came before the Court last week and our criminal lawyer argued that the client had not been reckless.  

In February 2023, when the hearing took place in Blacktown, the Magistrate accepted our argument that the client had not been reckless and accordingly found our client not guilty.
