Woman avoids prison for commercial quantity drug supply

In March 2021, our client was charged with 21 drug supply offences, including a charge of supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, namely, 525 grams of cocaine.

Hanna Legal engaged in extensive negotiations with the prosecution, which resulted our client pleading guilty to the commercial quantity supply and one other charge, with the balance of the charges being withdrawn.

Our criminal lawyers also negotiated the statement of agreed facts in our client’s favour including the insertion of some important concessions by the prosecution as to our client’s role.

In October 2022, Hanna Legal represented our client at her sentence proceedings at the District Court, where it was successfully argued on her behalf that she should not be sentenced to prison but rather be permitted to remain in the community subject to an Intensive Corrections Order.
